Hosted Video Security - Video surveillance

The video security solution of 1000eyes systematically and securely utilizes the advantages of network-based video surveillance (video over IP) and distributed computing. Our customers can observe their surveillance premises irrespective of time and place. In addition, the theft-protected ring memory in the data centre provides optimum security for all recordings. Apart from the cameras the customer does not need to invest in any other hardware (e.g. Recorder, PC, NAS) or his own servers.

The cameras are connected to the existing Internet router on the surveillance premises, then they automatically connect to the Video Management Software (VMS) of 1000eyes on the Internet via a secure connection. The customer observe and monitor the surveillance area live on the local network or on the Internet from anywhere in the world (intelligent bandwidth management). And the recordings are saved with redundant back-up technology in the high security data centre, were events can be found quickly by using convenient search filters.

Viewing of live streams and recordings and the configuration process are handled with a normal browser by a user interface which is intuitive in its use. Different locations or branches can also be managed via this user interface. This does not violate any existing security policies because there is no need for any configuration of services or any reduction of the security settings/firewall of the Internet router. Neither DynDNS nor port forwarding are necessary, so the cameras are protected from any access by third parties. The system is therefore also fully functional via VPN.

It is even possible to use the system in locations without an Internet connection by using a 3G router. For mobile access with a mobile phone, Blackberry or iPhone with Internet capability there is a special mobile portal which uses the latest streaming technology to convert and transmit both the live stream and the stored recordings in a form that is compatible with the relevant end device. An app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices is also available.

The 1000eyes alarm centre can notify immediately by phone, E-mail, SMS, picture message or to a security service (depending on the settings).

The technology has been developed in close co-operation with the network camera manufacturers Panasonic (Japan) and Axis Communications (Sweden) and is available with the same capacity for both camera series.
